The MS General Psychology program is for anyone interested in studying psychology at a postgraduate level. The place of psychology is no more limited to a laboratory or a counselling room. Psychology has applications in diverse areas of health and social care, educational sector, business and corporate, human resources and marketing. Interestingly, post-pandemic it is now also finding its place within the ever-evolving software development market with a peculiar focus on developing mental well-being interventions accessible to people using information technology.
IBA is offering an MS in General Psychology for the first time and our aim is to offer our postgraduate students an academic program that serves as a solid foundation for their future career and development within the field of psychological sciences. The program will help students develop transferable skills that could be utilized by potential employers including research methodology and ethics. The purpose of developing a Masters program aligns with IBA's vision of becoming a center of academic excellence. The program will be taught by experienced and distinguished faculty who have a well-established research and clinical portfolio to mentor students develop scientific skepticism, critical thinking and reasoning.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must have completed minimum of 16-years of education, including last 4 years of education from an HEC recognized university/institute. Although the program is designed to cater to all disciplines, prior knowledge or understanding of social science and/or psychology will be advantageous. Minimum entry requirement is of CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0, or 60% marks, in the last degree attained. All equivalency claims shall be evaluated by HEC. Work experience is not a mandatory requirement for admission in this program. Students who may not have a prior background in social sciences and psychology will be required to undertake additional foundation courses.
Date of Program Start
The Program will commence in semester of Fall 2025.
Duration
The program is designed for 2 years, however the maximum time allowed to complete the degree is 4 years. Students will only be admitted as full-time during the coursework. Classes will be scheduled any day from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 9pm.
